Assessing impact over skills: A framework to humanize design careers
Abstract
Design teams are lost in a sea of skills they have to deliver across. UI/UX Design, Research, IA, Interaction Design, Prototyping, Writing, Animation, Coding, Communication... you name it. Evaluating individuals against all those skills is stressful, and confusing. How might we create Design Career frameworks that are simple and self-explanatory? That allows every designer, UX writer, researcher, or manager to grow. How can anyone realize their strengths and values and use those to go forward?
What will you learn?
1
Identify your strengths as a creative
2
Set goals that make sense to you or your team
3
Prioritize impactful actions for your own career
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to grow to their next role but feels overwhelmed and doesn't know how. Design Managers who need a tool to have meaningful conversations with their employees and help them grow.
